Forbidden Fruit

This is a common New Zealand species, tui. The title of the painting comes from the type of tree the tui is resting on. Taiwan Cherry is considered a noxious pest here in New Zealand as it crowds out native vegetation. The tui love the blossoms and contribute to the spread of this non-native tree in the North Island.
